CHROMEBOOK FAq's
How much is the usage fee, and what does it cover?
The usage fee is $30. It covers accidental breakage. Breaking the chromebook on purpose can result in a charge of $200 (the full replacement cost). After an accidental break, the student will get the chromebook back after it has been repaired, but will have to be careful with it the rest of the year. Picking off keys counts as intentional damage.
Can I buy my own device, rather than getting a chromebook from the school?
Yes you can! You will need something that works well with Google Chrome, as school email is Gmail-based and most classes use Google Docs. Also, if you decide to get a tablet, please make sure you have a keyboard attachment.
If I buy my own device and something goes wrong with it, can I take it to someone in the library to fix it?
No. Unfortunately, our technicians are unable to work on computers that are not the property of Rockingham County Schools, so when purchasing a computer; a warranty or service plan is a good idea.
I can’t sign in to my email/chromebook. How do I get my password reset?
If you are an incoming freshman, your password was reset over the summer to your 8-digit-birthday with a lowercase r and a question mark (for example: if your birthday is March 2 2004, your password would be 03022004r?) If you are an upperclassmen and can’t remember your password, contact Ms. Hughes ([email protected] OR 634-3220 ext. 217) and she can reset your password.
I can’t sign in to Canvas because I don’t remember my username and/or password. Who can reset that for me?
Your classroom teachers are the only ones who can reset your NCEdcloud/Canvas account. Any of your teachers have this capability.
I can’t sign in to Apex to work on my CCRG course. Who can reset that for me?
Your 2nd period teacher, who is also your CCRG teacher, will have that information.

Insurance Policy Form gives details about what insurance does and doesn't cover, and what your usage fee does. By signing this form, the student and parent/guardian are acknowledging that they understand the insurance/usage fee policy.
